Leadership Development Programs

The Superintendents' Network
The Superintendents' Network, a clinical study group comprised of twenty-two superintendents guided by Harvard University professor Richard F. Elmore, is a group of practitioners with a common interest in learning how to initiate and sustain improvements in the quality of instructional practice and in student learning in school districts.

Parents Supporting Excellence in Education (Parents SEE)
Parents are important voices for improving instruction and ensuring educational equity. Their voices have the most impact when the parents have a clear understanding of instructional improvement and how to 'read' student performance data and its ramifications.


Technical Assistance

Systemic Instructional Improvement Program Grants and Technical Assistance
School districts can apply for Systemic Instructional Improvement Program grants to refocus resources on student achievement. Districts are eligible for a maximum of $100,000 over four years. All Center grantees receive technical assistance and coaching from CCSC staff. The Center is currently not accepting new grant requests.

Districtwide Instructional Assessments
The Center’s staff works with administrators and school leaders to better understand and utilize student performance data and to assess how all budgeting, personnel and staffing patterns, and governance and evaluation processes could be aligned to make better progress in raising student achievement. This assessment is available on a fee-for-service basis.


Public Policy and Research

Research-based Informational Tools for Policymakers
Because our programs honor both theory and practice, continuously testing new educational ideas 'on the ground' in partnership with teachers and administrators, the Center is in a unique position to engage policymakers on best approaches to support wide-scale improvements in instructional practice and student performance.
